For every child’s unexpected path, a place to heal

In the movie "The Hobbit," Gandalf warns Bilbo Baggins that he might not come back from the adventure with the Dwarves - and if he does, he will not be the same.

Trauma takes us on a journey we never intended, and it will change us. Our Children's Program is designed to help your child on their healing journey.

Healing through play and practice

Our trauma-informed approach blends age-appropriate defense techniques with activities that help regulate the nervous system. Kids build confidence, practice problem-solving, and learn to use their voice, all while making choices in a safe, supportive environment.

Children who have experienced interpersonal violence are welcome in this program. Interpersonal violence includes harm that happens within a relationship such as physical, emotional, or sexual abuse; neglect; or other violations of safety and trust. If you believe your child fits this definition, we believe you.

A supportive, structured space

Each class follows a consistent rhythm so kids know what to expect and can feel safe in the routine. Sessions blend age-appropriate defense techniques with movement and activities that help regulate the nervous system, build confidence, and foster problem-solving.

Children are encouraged to participate at their own pace, make choices about how they engage, and use their voices in ways that feel right for them.

Our commitment to every child

The program’s aim is to help kids rebuild a sense of safety, strengthen confidence, and discover their own agency after violence. By practicing skills in a safe environment, children learn not just techniques, but also trust in themselves.
