Rebuild safety and confidence

Healing after violence takes more than time — it takes tools, practice, and a community that understands.

Our adult classes create space to: rebuild safety in your body, grow confidence through practical skills, ease anxiety with nervous system support, and connect with others who know healing is a process, not a timeline.

If You’ve experienced harm, you belong here

Cor Defense offers body-based training for people who have experienced interpersonal violence. That harm can take many forms — not just physical force.

Interpersonal violence can happen within families, intimate relationships, workplaces, schools, and faith communities. It may look like sexual violence, harassment, emotional abuse, bullying, racism, sexism, stalking, intimidation, spiritual abuse, or neglect.

Consent means being able to freely make choices with safety, respect, and equal power — and the freedom to change your mind at any time. Many survivors don’t label their experiences as “violent,” but coercion, manipulation, or a lack of true choice can still leave deep impacts.

Not sure if this fits your experience?

Ask yourself:

  • Is there equal power and control in the relationship?

  • Do I feel safe to be myself and set boundaries?

  • Is there mutual trust and respect?

  • Am I (and are they) truly able to consent — not afraid, intoxicated, or pressured?

If these questions raise uncertainty, know that you are welcome here.

Inside a Cor Defense class

Learning a new skill can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. We break down each technique and give you complete control over the pace at which you learn, so you never feel overwhelmed.

We also give you choices. Oftentimes, we ask the group to pick between 2 or 3 techniques they'd like to learn. Our class structure is consistent, so you always know what to expect when you join us on your healing journey.

Trauma-informed, survivor-centered

Defense training can sometimes feel retraumatizing. When the brain is under stress, it’s very difficult to learn or remember new information. Trauma-informed care means we recognize how trauma affects the brain and body.

That’s why we adjust our training to your needs, helping you stay within your window of tolerance - the range where you can learn, practice, and feel safe.

How much does it cost?

Our classes are available to any survivor, regardless of ability to pay. All you need to do is complete the intake.

If you are able to pay, the suggested price is $15 per class or $65 per month to attend once per week.

You’re also welcome to bring a trusted friend, partner, or family member with you for support. If they join, they’ll simply complete a quick waiver and follow the same class guidelines.

  • “The instructors Andrea and Lonnie are the real deal.

They actually get trauma-informed care, and it’s infused in everything they do. The defense training itself is super empowering and the instruction is top notch. They really meet you where you’re at, let you set the pace, and are kind, encouraging, informative, and accommodating throughout the class. You can tell they genuinely care and are passionate about helping people find healing through defense training.”

  • “This is exactly what I was missing in the recovery to my wholeness.

I feel grounded and embodied. It’s life changing, I’m integrating back into my body and that feels hopeful. Training is the glue in my week that makes all of this unraveling in therapy feel safe. Sundays are my strongest and most clear days out of the week because of Cor Defense. I am forever grateful for Cor Defense's existence in my life and in this world.”
