During the intake, survivors review a list of symptoms and report a percentage of how many they experience. They also report a percentage of comfort and confidence in public spaces. Then, in 3 months, they review the same list and report new percentages.
For our children’s classes, we measure program success through caregiver surveys before and after the program, tracking improvements in children’s problem-solving, emotional regulation, and sense of agency.

About Cor Defense
Survivor-led. Trauma-informed. Community-based.
Cor Defense blends self-defense with healing practices to make safety accessible, free of stigma, cost barriers, and clinical walls.
Cor Defense was founded by survivors, for survivors. We know that healing after interpersonal violence takes courage, community, and practical tools, not clinical jargon or closed doors. That’s why our programs bring self-defense training and nervous system regulation into everyday spaces where people already gather.
We believe safety is a human right. By blending trauma-informed care with empowerment-based self-defense, we help people of all ages reclaim confidence and move forward with strength. Our programs welcome people of every race, gender, ability, and background.
